BEST Just Got Better – BEST Announces Launch of Sorpresa Generation II Range Hoods

HARTFORD, Wis., February 8, 2012 – BEST®, a leading designer of luxury range hoods, today announced the launch of the Sorpresa™ Generation II Collection, a collection of Italian-inspired range hoods, each with a captivating design that challenges perceptions of what a range hood can look like.

Sorpresa Generation II is a response to the success of the award-winning Sorpresa™ Collection, a set of nine range hoods that debuted in 2011 to rave reviews. Sorpresa, which means “surprise” in Italian, takes on shapes and styles that are designed to immediately become the focal point of any kitchen, while still delivering the world-class ventilation technology and function expected from a BEST product.

“Following the success of our Sorpresa Collection last year, our designers in Italy were eager to get started on crafting the Generation II collection,” says Brian Wellnitz, marketing manager, kitchen ventilation, BEST. “The demand for functional art in the kitchen is rising, and with this second generation of hoods, we can offer even more options for adding high-end design to one of the most central rooms in the home.”

Intrigue (pictured left) has a uniquely minimal wall-mounted design that gives the impression of a piece of floating artwork. Available in stainless steel, this range hood can be painted (from the flue to the chimney) to make this portion of the hood nearly invisible against the wall. Intrigue is available for ducted or non-ducted applications, and a convenient multi-speed control allows a perfect performance selection from a powerful 400 CFM blower. This innovative design by BEST will leave homeowners and guests “intrigued” by the very nature of the hood – its upside-down question-mark shape and shelf-like appearance are sure to be a conversation starter in any kitchen.

Sphera (pictured right), with its unique orb design, gives the appearance of a hanging light but is actually a fully functioning range hood. Available in either white or black, Sphera functions as a recirculation hood  and meets the need for a contemporarily designed range hood that can accompany a small gas, electric or induction cooktop. Since Sphera does not require ducting, it is perfect for retrofit applications. For cooktops beyond 30 inches, homeowners can install two Sphera hoods side by side for optimal functionality – and twice the design.With its rounded edges and stainless steel disc center, Sun (pictured left) is a wall-mounted range hood that truly echoes its name. Popular with designers, Sun can be ducted or non-ducted. This hood, available with a black or white glass backdrop, creates a dramatic centerpiece on any kitchen wall; no chimney is required for the non-ducted version. In addition, perimeter induction is built into the design of Sun, allowing this range hood to capture smoke and odor more effectively. Sun is ideal for installation above 30- to 36-inch-wide small gas, electric or induction cooktops.

Stainless steel and reflective glass meet dramatically in the Fusion range hood (pictured right), forming a Yin-Yang connection. The hood, available in ducted and non-ducted forms, includes dual halogen lighting to illuminate the cooking experience. The “fusion” between the two dissimilar surfaces of this range hood gives rise to a natural and peaceful feel in the kitchen.
